The magnanimous & dynamic vision of Sri Dr.P.Laxmana Rao garu,
Previous Professor & Head of the Department of Cardiology was responsible
for
the foundation of Guntur Heart Association, on 7-5-1973. The then District
Collector
Sri K.Jayabharatha Reddy,I.A.S., was highly instrumental in providing
the necessary
administrative help for its creation.
Other illuminary figures of those days namely Sri Late P.R.Parthasarathy,
BIT Co.,
Sri PVG Raju, ILTD Co., Sri CH.Rama lingeswaraRao, Director Nava Bharat
enterprises,
Sri Tellakula Jalaiah & Sri Dr.P.Narasimha Rao, Ex.Principal,
Guntur Medical College,
added their mite for this great organisation.
For the last decade, the Guntur Heart Association has been rejuvenated,
and several
life saving equipments and articles have been purchased under the stewardship
of
Dr.R.Murali Babu Rao,MD.,DM., Professor & HOD of Cardiology &
other members of team, Dr.J.V.Rao,MD.,Dr.Mohanarjun,MD.,DM..
Guntur Heart Association is extremely grateful for the great charity
&donation,
the biggest till now, of "Image Intensifier with TV Screen" costing
Rs.18.5 lacks
to Cardiology, Government General Hospital, Guntur.
In spite of all the above achievements, there remains to be quite a
lot to be done for
the cause of the poor cardiac patients. Life membership for this association
is Rs.10,000/- the donor, and for 4 members of his family,
master health cardiac checkups will be offered.
