Department of Plastic Surgery

The department was started on 28-11973 with 10 beds & Dr.G.Siva rama krishna M.S., M.Ch., was posted as the professsor (single manned unit) Incidentally this is the 1^st Plastic surgery Department to have been created in out state. Burn unit with 10 beds was converted to a Plastic surgery Department to strart with.

            After 1 ½ years, in 1974 a post of Asst. Professor was created (Dr.P.V.Rama krishna Rao as the 1^st Asst. Professor) and bed strength was raised from 10 to 20 and all beds werer brought together under one roof.

            In 1983 a second post of Asst.Professor was created.

            At Present the Department is functioning with Dr.A.Koteswara rao as the Professor  and two qualifed Assistant Professors to cater to the needs of people of Coastal Andhra from West Godavari to nellore Dist.
